This is the project presentation of the work Cameo, commissioned by and finalist of The Place Prize 2011, sponsored by Bloomberg.
Cameo challenges the narrative conventions used in suspense films, playing with framing, sound and non-verbal communication signs. The aim is to translate these cinematic features into a theatrical construction challenging the audience’s interpretation of the work. - view on vimeo -

As part of their Momentum Residency at Harrow Arts Centre, the dance company Mala CHERGA Theatre, led by Galina Kalicin, is in the process of creating a new exciting dance & physical theatre work inspired by the surrealist paintings of Rene Magritte and the amusing short stories of Daniil Kharms. This video clip is an extract from a performance of the work in progress which they performed at Harrow's Momentum Networking Event on 23 May 2008. - view on vimeo

This year, as part of Harrow's participation in the Momentum Dancer in Residence scheme, young people in Harrow were offered places on an exciting project at Harrow Arts Centre, starting on May 1st 2008. This has been a unique opportunity for young people age 11-18 to take part in the Creative Contemporary Dance Project with our Momentum artist-in-residence. The young people worked with Galina Kalicin over a period of 11 weeks, learning about contemporary dance technique, developing theatre performance skills, making their own dance. These dance workshops led to performances in Under One Sky and Brent Respect (Brent is another of the partner boroughs in Momentum). The aim of the project has been to introduce young people to contemporary dance and theatre performance whilst helping them to improve and develop their confidence, creativity, co-ordination, fitness, musicality, problem solving and interpersonal skills. - view on vimeo
