- Cullen, Niall - PrefaceMorn
- PrefaceMorn is an integrated dance theatre company. With disabled and able-bodied performers, PrefaceMorn aims to create innovative and accessible dance theatre. There are two strands to PrefaceMorn’s work. The company acts as a platform supporting able-bodied and disabled dancers and choreographers in creating and presenting high-quality multi-disciplinary performance work. PrefaceMorn also provides accessible integrated workshops and would in the future like to develop training to encourage more disabled students to pursue careers in the dance world, supporting disabled artists in their development. This will also help to create links between peer-groups of disabled and able-bodied artists, so boosting the practice of integration. Accessibility in the arts is of great importance to director Niall Cullen. As dance is almost exclusively a visual medium and dance theatre still relies heavily on form and image, it is often out of reach for a visually impaired audience. PrefaceMorn have identified the need for a more accessible form of dance theatre. The integral use of audio description in the company’s work aims to provide a way into dance theatre for a visually impaired audience.

- Her work addresses the divide between reality and imagination through the creation of fictional worlds or transformation of the ‘commonplace’. Using objects she has found or collected and familiar imagery that both resonates with the artist and holds shared collective connotations with the viewers. The works often imply a narrative that is never told in full encouraging the viewer to construct their own meaning. Permeating through her diverse practice is an interest in the subconscious mind, fantasies and daydreams which are combined with a keen observation of everyday life.
