Big Dance

Big Dance is the ultimate dance experience and will take place in 2010 and 2012.  This year’s festival runs from 3-11 July and everyone is invited to join in!

The T-Mobile Big Dance 2010 is a biennial pan-London festival which celebrates the diverse forms of dance across London in the lead up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  With 9 days of dance events taking place in unusual places throughout the city - shops, parks, galleries and museums – the festival will provide Londoners and visitors to the Capital an unparalleled celebration of dance.

The aim is to encourage people to 'get into dance’, increase fitness levels and generate a legacy of dance for all.  As London's Legacy Trust UK programme, London will be promoted as a world-class centre for high quality dance to an international audience and the aim is that thousands of people will be inspired to make dance a part of their lives beyond 2012 - already 8 million people have been touched by Big Dance.

English National Ballet and Big Dance

English National Ballet is delighted to have been chosen as the West London Hub for Big Dance. English National Ballet is leading on and coordinating Big Dance activity in the following London Boroughs: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Richmond-Upon-Thames and Westminster.  The other hubs leading on delivery of regional Big Dance programmes are East London Dance, Greenwich Dance Agency, Sadler’s Wells and Siobhan Davies Dance.

As well as working with local artists and dance companies, English National Ballet is working in partnership with several groups to produce a lively and innovative programme of work for all to enjoy throughout the festival period.  Please visit our website www.ballet.org.uk to learn more details about the projects and to find out all the ways you can get dancing in West London!
